Is Scout Crew a sportsbook or an exchange?
No. It's a research tool. It reads prices, compares them across venues, works out what it thinks a game is worth, and writes up what it sees. It isn't a broker or an exchange, and it never holds a dollar of your money.
Is any of this financial advice?
No. Nothing here is investment, financial, trading or gambling advice, and nothing is a recommendation. The grades, the Consider / Monitor / Skip calls, the fair numbers and the write-ups are all automated model output for research. They aren't predictions, and they know nothing about your finances.
Does Scout Crew place bets for me?
No. It fills in a ticket and hands you a link to the venue's app. You place the order there, yourself.
There is code for a narrow version of this — your own limit orders, on Kalshi, with your own key — but it's switched off, behind a kill switch, needs you to opt in, and needs you to confirm every single order. Nothing is ever placed automatically.
Do I need to connect a venue to use it?
No. The slate, the briefs, lineups, projections, live scores and news all work with nothing connected. Linking a venue just adds your own positions and that venue's prices.
Where do my API keys live?
Encrypted, never in plain text. Your key is locked with a key unique to your account, and that key is itself locked by a master key kept outside the database and outside the codebase.
No secret is ever written to a log, and nobody sees your key — not even an admin. Disconnect a venue and the stored key is deleted on the spot. You can also kill the key at the venue any time, with no involvement from us.
What can administrators see?
To run and support the app, an admin can see your usage, bets, notes and chats. An admin cannot see your keys — that's blocked in code, not just by policy. It's written into the Terms, section 11.
What does the AI see?
The sports stuff: teams, schedule, lineups, player stats, game state and the prices for that game. Never who you are. Money details — what you're up or down, what you staked — are stripped out unless you switch them on in Settings. Your venue keys never go near it.
We switch between AI providers to balance cost and quality, so the writing style can shift a bit. Plug in your own key and it goes to your provider instead.
What does it cost?
Nothing, for the whole beta. If paid plans ever arrive you get 30 days' notice, nothing you already use starts charging unless you say yes, and you're never auto-enrolled.
Who is eligible?
18 or older, living in the US, and the actual owner of any venue account you link. You need an invite code, and you have to confirm all of that at sign-up. Lying about it breaks the Terms.
How accurate is it?
Sometimes wrong — and it tells you when it doesn't know. Feeds lag and break, and models drift. Any past performance you see in the app doesn't predict the future and isn't a promise of profit. Check anything before you lean on it.
Can I see how the reads are calculated?
Yes. How the Crew thinks, inside the app, walks through every formula, the grade and the checks in plain English, running on real data. The baseball win model is fully open.
How long do you keep my data?
Depends what it is. Price snapshots 45 days, position snapshots 180 days, chat 7 days (anything you save to crew memory sticks), call logs 7 days, error logs 30 days. Your account, your keys and your bet records stay while the account is open — they're the product.
How do I get my data out, or delete it?
Email us. Wherever you live you can see it, fix it, export it or delete it, and you can disconnect a venue key yourself any time. We verify it's you from your account email and reply within 45 days. Deletions clear within 30 days, minus a few records we're required to keep.
Do you use trackers or sell my data?
No. One cookie to keep you logged in. No ad trackers, no analytics cookies, and nothing about you is ever sold or rented.
Is it only sports?
Sports is the focus, and it's where the crew is deepest — eight leagues, lineups, live scores and per-sport models. The same engine also reaches crypto, economics, earnings and politics markets, and the news board already groups those topics, so they're there if you want them. We're not splitting attention away from sports for the time being.
What happened to Couch Crew?
It's a separate product for TV and entertainment markets, switched off until it gets its own launch. Not part of the sports beta.
